As many of you know, Connecticut’s hourly minimum wage increases from $11.00 to $12.00 on September 1, 2020. The increase over the current hourly wage was passed in 2019 to eventually bring the state’s minimum wage to $15.00 by June of 2023.
The minimum wage hike schedule calls for one dollar annual increases as follows:
- September 1, 2020 ($12.00)
- August 1, 2021 ($13.00)
- July 1, 2022 ($14.00)
- June 1, 2023 ($15.00)
Increases after Jan. 1, 2024 will be tied to the employment cost index.
For tipped workers, the minimum hourly wage remains $6.38, while bartenders earn a minimum hourly $8.23.
