Mr. Randich is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (B.A., Summa Cum Laude in Economics, 1983), and of the University of Connecticut School of Law (J.D., 1986, with Honors). He currently practices with Shipman, Shaiken & Schwefel, LLC having previously practiced for nine years with Shipman, Stokesbury & Fingold, LLC. Prior to that time, he practiced for eleven years with the firms Cohen, Wakim & Merlin, P.C. and its successor, Wakim, Merlin & Randich, LLP after practicing for his first eight years with the firm Schatz & Schatz, Ribicoff & Kotkin.
Mr. Randich’s practice is focused on general litigation with an emphasis on real property and business organization litigation, including landlord-tenant disputes.
Mr. Randich’s previous firms were primary counsel to the Konover Family of business organizations, and Mr. Randich has had extensive involvement is various aspects of the development, ownership, leasing and management of retail shopping centers.
Mr. Randich also has an extensive record of public service. Mr. Randich was first elected Judge of Probate for the Newington Probate District in 2006 where he continues to serve. Mr. Randich also served on the Newington Town Council from 1987 until 2001 and as Newington’s Mayor from 1995 until 2001. Mr. Randich thereafter served as the Chairman of the Joseph P. Doyle Senior and Disabled Project Building Committee in Newington, as President and a current member of the Board of Directors of the Newington Student Assistance Fund, Inc and as President and a current member of the Newington Rotary Club. Mr. Randich also served as Newington’s representative to the Capital Region Council of Governments from 1993 until 2001.
Mr. Randich is a member of the Litigation Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.
